Job Description Summary The Medical University of South Carolina
College of Medicine offers an exceptional opportunity for a
qualified candidate. The MUSC HSC Educator has a pivotal role in
managing and deploying a wide range of MUSC-HSC simulation
activities, ensuring compliance with simulation-based education
best practices, the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH)
accreditation standards, and institutional policies and procedures.
They collaborate with many individuals from across the MUSC
enterprise and externally, including faculty, students, trainees,
healthcare practitioners, technicians, and administrative personnel
to provide high-quality simulation-based education and foster

Description 1. Education Development (25%) Collaborate with
internal and external stakeholders and center staff to develop
simulation-based learning activities and assessments that adhere to
best practices. Develop and deploy staff and facilitator training
sessions and materials to support simulation-based education best
practices. Network with stakeholders, demonstrating the effective
use of simulation-based education for current and future health
care professionals and promoting patient safety. 2. Education
Management (25%) Program high-quality scenarios using Laerdal
SimDesigner that conform to simulation best practices. Manage and
maintain the MS Teams master course index and project management
system for scenario development and tracking. Develop, deploy, and
manage online content to support simulation activities, facilitator
training, and staff development. Maintain CHSE certification. 3.
Accreditation Coordination and Maintenance (30%) Collect and
evaluate center, learner, and facilitator data to ensure continuous
quality improvement and ongoing Society for Simulation in
Healthcare (SSH) accreditation status. Review and update simulation
scenarios and supporting materials to ensure MUSC-HSC simulation
activities meet standards of best practice established by SSH and
other professional organizations (e.g. INACSL). Review and update
policies and procedures regularly to ensure MUSC-HSC operations
meet standards of best practice established by SSH and other
professional organizations (e.g. INACSL). Manage the application
process for SSH reaccreditation, producing a professionally written
application packet that accurately and effectively reflects
MUSC-HSC operations and educational activities. Serve as the point
of contact for all matters related to SSH reaccreditation,
including writing periodic reports, receiving feedback, and
implementing needed changes. 4. Technical Solutions Development
(15%) Develop technical competency to enable effective support of
simulation activities within MUSC-HSC. Manage and conduct tours and
demonstrations for external and internal groups, including
developing standard activities and procedures. Manage Society of
Simulation in Healthcare Week activities. Identify, develop, and
deploy innovative healthcare education solutions, in conjunction
with the MUSC-HSC Director; other duties as assigned by the
MUSC-HSC Director. 5. Other duties as assigned (5%) Position
Requirements: Master's degree in a relevant field (healthcare,
education, etc.) 2 years of experience in healthcare
simulation-based education Experience in developing and deploying
simulation-based education curricula, scenarios, and supporting
materials SSH Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) or
eligible for certification within the first year of appointment
Health care professional experience preferred Skills and Abilities:
Manage multiple projects simultaneously Excellent interpersonal
skills Excellent written and oral communication skills Proficient
in Microsoft productivity and collaborative products Proficient in
Laerdal LLEAP software for scenario development/programming within
the first year of appointment Create Shareable Content Object
Reference Model (SCORM)-compliant online modules within the first
