Health to find a qualified Peds CVICU RN in Charleston, South
Carolina, 29425! Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing

RN license Certifications: PALS, BLS (American Heart Association)
Must-Have: VAD experience is highly preferred. First-time travelers
are accepted. Description: The Cardiovascular Pediatric Intensive
Care Unit (CVPICU) RN will work three 12-hour night shifts. The
nurse-to-patient ratios will be 1:1 or 1:2 based on patient acuity.
Weekend shifts require working four weekends within a four-week
schedule. Holiday rotation is expected, and the nurse may need to
float within the scope to meet facility needs. The unit is a 29-bed
award-winning unit and serves as a referral center for significant
pediatric cardiac surgery. The average daily patient census is 26,
and the unit addresses both cardiac surgical and medical diagnoses.
Patients typically have congenital heart disease of any age based
on their care needs. Common procedures include cardiac surgery, use
of Ventricular Assist Devices, heart transplant, and cardiac
catheterization. The unit provides ECMO, CRRT, and other complex
supportive therapies in addition to ventilatory and cardiac
support. Pediatric palliative care is available as needed to
support families and patients. The staffing mix includes Registered
Nurses, Patient Care Technicians, and Unit Secretaries, with access
to ancillary supportive services. All beds are monitored. The
patient age group includes neonates, infants, children, and
adolescents. Interdisciplinary support is available, including
respiratory services and social services. The unit cares for all
pediatric cardiac congenital conditions and related conditions. VAD
training is required upon arrival at the unit. Candidates with a
background in continuous renal replacement therapy and knowledge of
