Position: Family Medicine / Geriatric Medicine Physician (Internal Medicine / Geriatric Medicine) Location: Ridgeland, SC Facility: Ochsner Health Carolina Region Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physician specializing in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine with a focus on Geriatric Medicine to join our esteemed medical team in Ridgeland, South Carolina. This full-time, permanent position offers an excellent opportunity to provide comprehensive primary care to the geriatric population, enhancing quality of life and health outcomes for seniors in the community. Key Responsibilities: Deliver comprehensive primary care services to patients aged 65 and older, including preventive care, chronic disease management, and acute illness treatment. Conduct thorough patient assessments, develop individualized care plans, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize health outcomes. Emphasize patient-centered care, ensuring clear communication and empathetic patient interactions. Manage medication reconciliation and review, including addressing polypharmacy concerns common in geriatric populations. Stay current with advancements in Geriatric Medicine and integrate best practices into clinical care. Maintain accurate and timely documentation within electronic health records in compliance with healthcare regulations. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the overall clinical excellence of the practice. Qualifications: MD or DO degree from an accredited institution. Board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Geriatric Medicine. Valid medical license to practice in South Carolina. Prior experience working with the elderly population is preferred but not mandatory; a strong interest in Geriatric Medicine is essential. Exceptional communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient care. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
