Job Title: Medical Surgical Float Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years of experience required License: South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact State RN License Certifications: BLS Must-Have: First-timers accepted Description: The Medical Surgical Float RN will work three 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, totaling 36 hours per week. Weekend and holiday rotations are required. Floating to medical surgical floors may be expected. Ratios may vary depending on the unit assigned. Candidates with two years of experience are preferred, although first-timers are welcome to apply. A South Carolina or multi-state/compact state RN license is mandatory. Candidates must have a current BLS certification. Block schedule accommodations require manager approval based on unit needs. Local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis. Travelers should be aware that all employees may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season, which runs from June through November. Candidates with planned time off exceeding seven days or that includes holidays may require facility approval prior to submission. It is essential for candidates to have a South Carolina license issued or applied for prior to the start date. All submissions must ensure candidates do not have time off that conflicts with compliance deadlines. Previous permanent staff must be separated from the system for one year before returning in a travel capacity.
