Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Pediatric

years of PICU experience - BLS and PALS certifications Description:
The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit provides intensive and
intermediate care to children ages 0-18. The unit cares for
patients with a blend of medical and surgical diagnoses. Common
diagnoses include respiratory compromise, trauma, and
post-operative surgical patients requiring immediate intensive care
support. Specialized therapies such as ECMO, CRRT, renal or
peritoneal dialysis and pediatric palliative care are available.
The staffing mix includes Registered Nurses, Patient Care
Technicians, and Unit Secretaries. Therapeutic supportive services
include Respiratory Therapy, Pediatric Dietitians, and Pediatric
Pharmacists. The unit operates with varied patient ratios,
including 1:1, 1:2, and 1:3. The position requires rotating day and
night shifts, including holidays and weekends as needed. Clinical
staff may float within their scope of practice to meet facility
needs. All requests for time off must be submitted in advance.
Travelers should be aware that emergency assignments may occur
