The nurse will work in a medical-surgical unit providing care to a diverse patient population. The unit typically manages patients with general medicine and specialty services, including surgeries and various medical conditions. The patient demographic consists of adults, with possible care for adolescents in specific circumstances. Registered nurses will maintain a patient-to-nurse ratio, generally 1:5, though this may vary. The role includes participation in holiday rotations and may involve floating to meet facility needs. Candidates with a minimum of one year of experience are encouraged to apply. The position is open to first-time travelers, and block schedule accommodations require management approval. A valid state or multi-state RN license is required, along with BLS certification. All nurses must be prepared for the possibility of emergency assignments during peak hurricane season.
