Job Description:
The City Driver operates tractor-trailer combinations to pick up
and deliver trailers between service centers and turn-point
locations.
Responsibilities include performing pre-trip inspections,
hooking/unhooking trailers, verifying documentation, maintaining
logs, and complying with safety and hazardous material
regulations.
May load/unload freight, perform tire chaining, and assist as a
dock employee or city driver as needed.
Qualifications include a Class A CDL with endorsements, at least 1
year of recent experience or completion of a driver training
course, a clean MVR, and ability to meet DOT requirements.
Work involves long-distance driving in various weather conditions,
exposure to noise, fumes, and potentially hazardous materials.
Overnight stays and flexible hours may be required.
Starting pay is $30.35/hour, and a hazardous materials endorsement
must be obtained within 120 days.
This full-time position emphasizes safety, independence, and
adherence to regulations.
