the products we make! About This Role Textron Systems’ recent
growth has established the need for a full time Principal or Senior
level Systems Engineer with experience leading and managing a
Systems Engineering group, experience in the design of large and
complex Operational and Maintenance Training Systems, evaluating
and integrating various system design topologies, accounting for
multi-physics performance dependencies in the aerodynamic,
thermodynamic, structural dynamic, electrical systems, material
science and design optimization for mechanical and electrical
assemblies that are subjected to severe environments. The candidate
should have experience serving as a project engineering lead. The
candidate will be leading other project engineers as well as
provide mentoring to junior engineers. The candidate should have
strong communications, presentation, and interpersonal skills and
be comfortable interacting with Executive Leadership, Program
Management, senior management, customer representatives and other
stakeholders. This position requires that the candidate be a US
citizen with or capable of receiving a secret level security
clearance. The Systems Engineer IV is a highly motivated,
self-driven team player that can perform in a fast-changing
business environment. The preferred candidate will understand and
employ the systems engineering processes in the design and modeling
of the total life cycle of large-scale military training devices;
parse and allocate system requirements to mechanical, electrical,
and software disciplines; and guide the system integration activity
using test methodologies and verification methods. This candidate
will have a strong desire for innovation and can identify and
incorporate modern hardware technologies and software applications.
This candidate will be the manager of the Systems Engineering group
which is composed of Project Engineers with multi-discipline
engineering backgrounds. The Systems Engineer IV will report to the
Director of Engineering. Responsibilities • Perform requirements
analysis to understand the needs of the customer • Derive
additional system requirements and allocate requirements to
sub-systems • Develop system architectural models using Model Based
Systems Engineering to support requirements development and
derivation • Manage requirements and establish requirements
traceability using software applications such as Cameo MagicDraw,
DOORS, or similar tools • Identify technical risks and develop
mitigation • Lead system design reviews • Lead system
Hardware/Software Integration (HSI) efforts • Coordinate system
testing with various engineering disciplines and the Test group •
Provide expertise in developing Training System documentation
including Test Procedures. • Maintain a positive working
relationship with the customer and training system end users. •
Identify and request pertinent technical data from the customer or
end user program office in support of maintenance training system
upgrades. Qualifications: - Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM field with
8-10 years of experience or a Master’s Degree with 5 years of
experience • Established leadership and managerial skills • System
design experience required • Demonstrated requirements analysis
skills and ability to trace requirements to customer
specifications. • Demonstrated skills in organizing test plans and
procedures • Effective written and oral communication skills •
Effective ability to organize and prioritize program tasks •
Demonstrated basic ability to use 3D CAD tools • Demonstrated
ability to read and understand engineering drawings • Personal
computer skills (e.g., word processing, spread sheet, presentation
graphics) • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with
multiple consistencies requiring attention • Ability to work
independently as well as collaboratively • Ability to obtain Secret
Clearance 10-25% travel required depending on the phase of the
