Job Description Job Description Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Technician Job Description The Facilities Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in maintaining the efficient operation and upkeep of our building and facility systems. This includes performing routine maintenance tasks, troubleshooting issues, and responding to repair requests to ensure a safe, functional, and well-maintained environment. Responsibilities Perform general building maintenance including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and painting tasks. Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on systems and equipment. Diagnose and repair mechanical issues with facility equipment and systems. Respond promptly to maintenance service requests and building emergencies. Monitor and maintain building safety systems including fire alarms, extinguishers, and emergency lighting. Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work. Set up and break down rooms or equipment for meetings, events, or special projects. Coordinate with external vendors and contractors as needed for specialized repairs. Ensure compliance with company policies and local safety regulations. Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance areas and storage rooms. Essential Skills 2 years of experience in building maintenance or a similar role. Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, manuals, and technical documents. Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Basic computer skills and experience with maintenance tracking systems (CMMS preferred). Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. Additional Skills & Qualifications Proficiency in industrial maintenance, troubleshooting, hydraulics, and mechanical maintenance. Experience with electrical maintenance, pneumatics, low voltage systems, and minor PLC troubleshooting. Skills in motors, bearings, industrial repair, electrical troubleshooting, high voltage, CNC laser, setup machine, gearboxes, hydraulic systems, pneumatics, fabrication, and welding. Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Charleston, SC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $33.00/hr.
