Read further to learn how you could help make great things possible in your community and around the world.Position OverviewHDR is seeking a Senior Traffic Engineer to join our South Carolina Area Transportation Business Group. This role can be based in Charleston, Columbia, Greenville, or Fort Mill. Responsibilities include:

• Leading a team of engineers and EITs on traffic-related projects such as capacity analysis, traffic forecasting, simulation modeling, roadway and signal design, transit support, and more.
• Serving as a Task Lead or Project Manager as needed.
• Conducting operational traffic analysis using various modeling tools.
• Analyzing intersections, roundabouts, arterials, and freeway segments.
• Participating in traffic signal design and timing projects, including drafting plans, field visits, and cost estimates.
• Providing technical support to junior staff.
• Continuously developing skills and industry knowledge.
• Performing other duties as required.Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering (preferred).
• Experience in toll roads, roadway design, or construction (a plus).
• Licensure such as PTOE or RSP (preferred).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Synchro/Sim Traffic, HCS, Vissim/Visum, ArcGIS, TransModeler, AutoCAD, and MicroStation.
• Ability to multitask across multiple projects.
• Local candidates preferred.Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in ITS and traffic engineering for various highway types.
  • Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.
  • Knowledge of transportation regulations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with traffic analysis software.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
