Job Description Job Description Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1 years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. A K-12 educational opportunity is available for a certified Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to support students across elementary and middle school levels on an itinerant basis. This contract role offers a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week with a caseload of approximately 10 students. The position is based in the Bluffton, SC area, providing services throughout the school year from ASAP through June 1, 2026. Key Responsibilities: - Provide specialized instruction and support for students who are visually impaired, addressing their unique learning needs. - Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). - Conduct assessments to determine students needs and track progress. - Deliver itinerant services across assigned schools in the Bluffton area, ensuring accessibility and equal educational opportunities. - Utilize assistive technology and adaptive materials to enhance student learning and independence. - Maintain accurate records, documentation, and communication with all stakeholders. Desired Qualifications: - Certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI). - Experience working with K-12 students who have visual impairments. - Strong understanding of specialized instructional strategies and assistive technology for visually impaired learners. - Excellent communication and collaborative skills to work effectively with students, families, and educational teams. - Flexibility to work itinerantly across multiple school locations.
